Benjamin Burgert – Crew Foreman

After graduating from the University of Kansas with a B. A. in Biology and an emphasis on plant science, Ben Burgert found his way to the world of arboriculture after 2 years as a research technician. Starting in 2005, he has gained a broad experience in all the aspects of tree care. Initially, Ben built his knowledge as a Plant Health Care Technician/Arborist Assistant while working with Tony and Bret for a respected Kansas City tree care company. Following this, Ben worked with a full time tree removal crane crew in North Carolina and most recently as the head Arborist at the Lyon Arboretum at the University of Hawaii at Manoa before starting with Urban Tree Specialists in 2008.

Ben has been an ISA Certified Arborist MW-4666A since 2006, and has assisted in overseeing climbing workshops for the Aloha Arborist Association as well as teaching climbing safety and chainsaw safety at the Lyon Arboretum. With a genuine love of trees and solid knowledge of arboricultural practices, Ben will go out of his way in order to make sure that safe and efficient work is the norm for his team.
